Theresa Macdonald

Theresa Macdonald Obituary

This is the obituary of Theresa Macdonald, from Moncton New Brunswick. Theresa was the mother of a great friend of mine, Gordon Macdonald.

Macdonald, Theresa Mary Alice, 76. It is with heartfelt sadness the family announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother and sister on Thursday, February 14, 2008, at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia, on August 28, 1931, Theresa was the daughter of the late Leo and Eva (Bourque) Sears. She was employed with the Moncton Credit Bureau and then Equifax Canada until her retirement. Theresa will be remembered by friends and family as an extremely dedicated volunteer at the Beaver Curling Club and as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Monctonian Curling Bonspiel for over thirty years. She was an even more dedicated and loving Nanny to her two granddaughters Kim and Taylor. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church, in the West End of Moncton. She is survived by her son Gordon, Moncton; daughter Faith (Tim) Houck, Halifax; granddaughters Kim and Taylor Houck; and brother William (Bill) Sears, Moncton. She was predeceased by her parents Leo and Eva Sears; husband William A.N. (Bill) Macdonald Sr.; son William A.N. (Billie) Macdonald Jr.; granddaughter Kristen Houck; and brother Ralph Sears. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road Riverview (869-2007). Funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 18, 2008 at11:00 AM from Holy Family Catholic Church, Falkland Street, Moncton with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. Parish prayers will take place Sunday evening at 8:30 at the funeral home. The interment will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery. A reception will be held in the church hall following the funeral mass. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
