Arts Workshops: Introduction: Marianne Lannigan
Hello, and welcome! The Arts Workshops I deliver focus on helping grade 7 and 8 teachers meet the expectations for the Ontario Curriculum for the Arts. Specifically - the Arts Workshops focus on how music and movement are utilized in a professional theatre setting. In addition to a presentation, demonstration, and actually performances from students during the seminar, there's also material for the teacher to use for follow-up. The teacher is left with copies of all sheet music, an evaluation rubric, and complete notes for the students to work with after the seminar. The result? The teacher and class get to combine the spirit of live theatre with the more practical aspects of the craft, while also meeting the requirements set out by the Ontario Curriculum for the Arts.
